If you’re interested in learning more about Photodex’s ProShow Producer, you will be glad when the April 2010 print issue of Professional Photographer comes out — I reviewed the newest version of Producer.
Until then, you’ll have to satiate your appetite by reading this online review of Photodex’s “Photo Video Fusion” workshop DVD. I had a few issues getting the DVD workshop installed, but from there on out, things ran smoothly! And, yes, I did learn something new:
While already familiar with Photodex Proshow Gold, after getting to review Proshow Producer for Professional Photographer (review scheduled for April issue), I have to admit I felt a little out of my element. Creating slideshows is easy for me, but integrating still images with video? That’s another thing. [...]
As I watched the training videos, I also discovered another reason why Producer is better than Gold. When you’re creating complex motion for a particular image — ProShow Producer can use multiple keyframes to capture the motion in one slide (e.g., an image that flies in from the left, stays stationary for five seconds, and then flies out to the right). ProShow Gold, on the other hand, can only handle one motion per slide — so to accomplish the same motion sequence, you’d have to make a set of three slides (one for the image to fly in, the next for the stationary image, and the last for the image to fly out).
