Apparently I’ve made someone unhappy. Unfortunately… I don’t know who. For whatever reason, unbeknownst to me, someone decided to report my Google profile for inappropriate content. I can assure you, everything on my profile is true. I’m not impersonating anyone, and my friends will tell you I am a nice, happy person. So… Google, will you please unblock my profile?
What everyone else sees when they try to view my profile:
What I see when I go to edit (or view) my profile:
Really… what was wrong with my profile? I’m pretty boring on there, actually. Just the same old info that’s on my websites… nothing out of the ordinary or offensive:
In summary, I have no idea how long my Google profile has been blocked… and we all know I don’t know why it was blocked. I hope it was an accident, and not someone trying to get retribution. I’m a pretty nice person, and usually go out of my way to be nice to people.
Lesson learned. I will now make sure to check my online profiles every so often.
I’ll keep you posted as this plays out… hopefully Google will be nice and reinstate my profile after seeing that I am who I claim to be!

Probaby a jealous photographer, but to be sure, a huge pain in the rear. I’m sure you will get it straightened out soon!
This is an unfortunate consequence of the free-wheeling nature of the internet. It would not be difficult for someone to report your profile/website as ‘offensive’ with no real justification thereof. Obviously, Google made no attempt that you are aware of to validate the reasoning behind their actions, which is not too surprising (big fish/little fish syndrome – they’ve got bigger fish to fry: China). My own site (which is hosted on SmugMug) is only pictures of family – vacations, church, sports events, etc. – but it gets blocked by some content filtering applications because it is classified as a “photo sharing” website and you know about THOSE kinds of sites (wink, wink). I would pursue this directly with Google and try to determine why the action was taken to try and prevent it happening again in the future. Good luck.
Uggh. Still blocked. I even removed all those links etc as a precaution, and resubmitted it. No direct way to contact Google about this, and I’m getting the sinking feeling that my Google profile might be doomed to being banned perpetually.
