Adobe’s StudioCloud is a great program. While at Imaging, I had the opportunity to see how other mainstream studio management software programs worked, and after trying out StudioCloud, I wouldn’t switch.
The best feature, in my opinion, is the feedback option. As you use StudioCloud, you can submit feature requests, report problems, or just ask questions. And the neat thing is, the staff replies promptly! There are so many programs out there that just don’t care enough about user input, but thankfully StudioCloud raises the bar in that area.
Beyond that, the interface for StudioCloud is pretty intuitive. You can easily create clients, invoices, and follow a pipeline (set of tasks). Another of my favorite features is the capability to integrate with your website. StudioCloud created a form you can use, which when submitted, automatically loads into your database as a new potential client, or lead. The key to automation is finding ways to make your life simpler, and this feature certainly does that.
StudioCloud is frequently updated, which is a good thing. But don’t worry, you don’t have to do a complete reinstall — the staff seems to be making minor changes to improve the customer experience. And the more popular a feature request… the sooner they’ll implement it!
As I work through the installation and integration of StudioCloud with my existing data, I’ll try to post some more updates so you can get a better feel for the program.
Try it out yourself (there is a free 30 day trial) at StudioCloud.com. You can use my referral discount code to get $$ off your purchase (finn101).
UPDATE: StudioCloud is a great basic studio management solution, but it was too basic for my needs. The interface lacked an “estimate” section (i.e. a unofficial invoice), and the online gallery/presentation software was not exactly what I was looking for. I’m currently testing out StudioPlus as another studio management software solution.
