Sometimes Less …is More

One of our fatal flaws, as artists, is that we want everyone to see all the wonderful pieces of art we’ve created. We forget that it’s sometimes more effective to only showcase our best work. Sometimes, showing too many images can be detrimental; especially if your website visitors have to wade through the mediocre work to get to the diamonds in the rough. Why make it hard on them? Just cut through the fat, and get right to the highlights.

Now, I’m not advocating a portfolio of one image… because only an iconic photographer could get away with that. But, instead of showing 50, 100 images… why not select 25-30 of your absolute best… let your portfolio be a testimony to the amazing work that you can create.

Sometimes less is more… and this would be a good example of when more really is less.
