As someone who has accessed websites from a lower bandwidth connection, I can relate to the ducks in this comic. It can be frustrating to wait for a page to load… and load… and load. With the advent of mobile browsing, the problem has been exacerbated.
While most photographers love the newer blog themes specifically because you can post 1000px images — I’m not a fan of huge images. The main page can take forever to load, and if you start scrolling down before it’s loaded all the images… your browser will move as it loads — making you lose your place.
So, the moral of the story is…? Think about the implications of stuffing your website chock-full of gorgeous images. Yes, you want to show your work to potential clients… but you should make sure your site is functional for low-bandwidth visitors.

Great comic strip. My site is Flash, but I make sure to have a intro page with important info and links on it. I wish Flash sites could be viewed on mobile devices… because that’s the only downside of my site currently.
